I have suffered from acne which has left scars all over my face and neck. I don't want to take drugs or have surgery so how can my Aesthetician help me?
ANSWER: There are a few different choices. One is Microdermabrassion, which is a mechanical device that uses crystals that exfoliate the dead skin off the top layer of your skin. This technique can help to soften scars. This is not a surgical procedure and your Aesthetician can perform them. Other excellent choices are Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid or Jessnor Peels that are done in a series with an aggressive home care routine. Consult your Skin Care Expert first.
What can be done for spots on my face that are lighter in color than the rest of my skin shade? My make up foundation will not stay on.
ANSWER: This is called Hypo-Pigmentation which means lack of melanin(color pigments). Permenant Make Up can be one option and a special make up foundation called Camouflage is another. Glymcam Camouflage is an excellent choice because it stays on longer and you can make it water proof when you apply a fixer powder over the camouflage make up. My hands are very dry and have many dark age spots. I get frequent manicures now on a regular basis and this makes the skin on my hands stand out more. I use a very expensive hand cream from a well know Cosmetic company several times a day. What else is a girl to do?
ANSWER: Obviously this cream you purchase is not doing its job! See your Skin Care Expert who will evaluate your condition. You need to heal and feed the skin on your hands and protect them with a sunscreen every day, RAIN OR SHINE (Also wear protective gloves on your hands when you do chores around the house both inside and outside gardening). The dark age spots that bother you can be lightened by using an aggressive home care your Aesthetician recommends.
My skin is oily and I get a few pimples every month. How can I get the oil under control so I don't get these pimples?
ANSWER: Salicylic Acid Washes and Salicylic Astringents are very useful in this situation (providing you are not allergic to aspirin). They unplug your pores by flaking away the upper layer of skin. Regular use seems to normalize overly productive oil glands. Be sure to apply a moisturizer and use sunscreen every day. Consult your Skin Care Expert first.
Ingrown hairs have been a big problem for me on my face which is slightly oily. Sometimes they get infected and become pimples. Is there any help?
ANSWER:Yes. Electrology or Hair Laser Removal are more permanent and expensive(but work). Use a B.P. wash with a Salicylic Astringent for your home care schedule on a regular basis and have Chemical peels with your Aesthetician. Be complient and you will see results in a short time.
